Dreams

Sweet dreams are made of tears
That roll and fall down from your face
To that pillow that you tenderly embrace
And head off to a careless simple world
Where you’re finally free to do what
You could not
Afford to think of anytime before.
I swear there is nothing I love more
Than to be drowned under the clouds of sheets
And to be welcomed by the inhabitants of the
Sweet dreams that make even me forget
The nightmares of harsh reality.
Though there have been some changes to them lately.
I realise my colourful free world became
Invaded by some hurtful thoughts
That wear me down when I’m supposed to rest.
Instead of eating homemade paella
Or frolicking with fairy wings
I’m left with corpses in my embrace
To be buried with bare hands
In the unwelcoming cold soil.
I have to rush before the inspector comes
To arrest me for my crime
Of killing the one who is still alive.
